Every adventure has a beginning.  Ours began with reading the likes of Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, etc.  Stories like these inspired us to embark on small adventures of our own: taking new routes on the walk home from school, weekend hikes through wooded areas, lakes and parks around town, family trips to camping and canoeing destinations.  As children, we dreamed of far-off places: treks through towering mountains, remote islands, and vast deserts.  Little did we know, those dreams would blossom into lifelong journeys of exploration.

As young adults, we were able to expand our horizons, driving in groups on Spring Break outings to camping trips to the large lakes, rivers and forests around the state.  Summer trips to beaches.  Winter trips to the mountains.  Road trips through the desert.  Exploring new towns and cities.

And with the advent of the Web and social media, we were inspired by blogs and videos of influencer adventurers to expand even further out to other countries in a broadening journey of exploration.
